About Me
My name is Marti Martinez, and I’m a computer geek at the University of Arizona, a husband, and a father of two (one to be born May 2006!). My wife, Missy, is a librarian for the Tucson-Pima Public Library, and has had her own blog for a lot longer than Critical Moss has been around.
These two pictures were taken a year or so ago in Sabino Canyon near Tucson, probably while preparing for one of our ill-fated annual attempts to hike down the Grand Canyon (so far, we haven’t made it more than about half a mile down the Bright Angel Trail, but that’s another story or two):
Before coming to Tucson is 2002, I spent four years in the Marine Corps, stationed first at Camp Schwab on Okinawa, Japan (where Missy and I met), then in Washington, D.C. at the Marine Barracks (a.k.a. 8th & I).
I’ve been a student at the U of A since a few months after I started working there, and currently (as of the Spring 2006 semester) I’m working part-time in order to get a little bit of extra schooling in before taking off a semester or so to enjoy our new baby. I hope to finish my Computer Science degree within the next couple of years.
